AHD stands for “analog high definition”. It is a new HD surveillance video standard for CCTV cameras and DVRs that utilizes coax cable to transmit HD video from security cameras to DVRs. AHD cameras are availlable i versions which supports up to 8MP HD resolution. Our hybrid CCTV DVRs all supports the AHD camera standerd. The advantage of a surveillance solution with AHD cameras over IP cameras is a significant cost saving, as AHD cameras are approximately half the price of similar IP cameras. In addition, cable runs of up to 500m are no problem.
